Leading PR & Marketing agency welcomes new creative director

Suffolk-based PR & Marketing agency, Pier, is proudly announcing the latest addition to its team of experienced staff.

Chris James has joined the team as full-time creative director, bringing with him a wealth of experience in creative graphic design.

Chris has worked with the team at Pier for three years, providing freelance and project support.  Now a permanent, full-time part of the team, Chris is providing additional skills and expertise to the range of services on offer to the agency’s growing client list.

Chris, who is from Colchester, has been working in creative design for 15 years, having spent 12 years working for design agencies in East Anglia and London, before setting up his own business in 2015. He has worked for top name brands such as Motorola and Virgin Media and has extensive experience in the property industry.

Chris said, “Content and campaign work is so visual now, great images and good design make a real impact.  Having worked with Pier for some time now as a freelancer, I have seen the great PR work that the team creates, so now we want to pull everything together in-house, delivering visuals on a par with our PR excellence so that we offer the very best integrated work to our clients.

“I’m looking forward to helping secure even more clients, pulling in my experience from working in a range of industries such as construction, property and local government.”

Felixstowe-based Pier, which celebrated its 10 year anniversary last summer, has established itself as a leading agency in a range of industries, with an enviable client list in sectors such as renewable energy, food and drink and finance.  It was recently shortlisted for 10 awards in the 2018 CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) East Anglia PRide Awards 2018; receiving more nominations than any other organisation in the region.

The continued demand for Pier’s services, which include PR consultancy, media relations and digital marketing, meant that Chris’ full-time support was needed to enhance its high-quality creative campaigns.

Managing Director Kate Bowden-Smith said, “I’m delighted to welcome Chris to the team on a full-time basis.  He brings real creative expertise to Pier, and the quality of his work is of the highest level, meaning we can continue to offer our clients exceptional creative content from our in-house team.”
