BBC Look East Visits Larchwood Foods

As sales of rapeseed celebrated a record high in the last year, BBC Look East visited our client Mr Hugh’s in May to find out more about the revolution surrounding cold pressed rapeseed oil.

Pier was delighted to organise the local news programme’s interview with Hugh Mason at his beautiful, family run farm in Fincham, Norfolk. In the midst of the stunning yellow rapeseed fields, Hugh explained that the increasing sales figures could be due to consumers and chefs ‘gradually shifting to a new, healthier’ local product in place of olive oil. Hugh also said of the recent trend, ‘it’s causing much excitement in this business and it’s a great opportunity to employ more people’.

Mr Hugh’s and Pier have also teamed up with chef Rachel Green and established food photographer Wes Gladwin to develop and showcase some tasty new recipes using Mr Hugh’s cold pressed rapeseed oil. These delicious new recipes range from fresh summer salads to scrumptious fish cakes and mouth-watering sweet treats.  Visit the Mr Hugh’s website to find out more: www.mrhughs.co.uk
